Writing Numbers

Regrinhas:

1. Colocamos o hífen (-) , em Inglês, na casa das dezenas.
Ex:
23 = twenty-three
165 = one hundred and sixty-five
1,592 = one thousand, five hundred and ninety-two
45,276 = forty-five thousand, two hundred and seventy-six

2. Usamos a vírgula (,) , em Inglês, para indicar os milhares.
Ex.:
Inglês = Português
1,200 = 1.200
2,300,345 = 2.300.345

3.No Inglês Britânico, utiliza-se o espaço branco para indicar os milhares.
Ex.:
Inglês = Português
1 200 = 1 200
2 300 345 = 2 300 345

4. Em Inglês, o ponto (.) é usado para indicar os decimais.
Ex.:
Inglês = Português
0.25 = 0,25
3.1416 = 3,1416
5.252674 = 5,252674

5. No Inglês Britânico, and vem antes das unidades e dezenas.
Ex.:
104 = one hundred and four
665 = six hundred and sixty-five
1,509 = one thousand, five hundred and nine
2,792 = two thousand, seven hundred and ninety-two
45,871 = forty-five thousand, eight hundred and seventy-one
105,206 = one hundred and five thousand, two hundred and six
243,279 = two hundred and forty-three thousand, two hundred and seventy-nine

6. And é facultativo no Inglês Americano.
Ex.:
104 = one hundred (and) four
665 = six hundred (and) sixty-five
1,509 = one thousand, five hundred (and) nine
2,792 = two thousand, seven hundred (and) ninety-two
45,871 = forty-five thousand, eight hundred (and) seventy-one
