To Affect or Effect ?/ To Advise or Advice ?
a. To Affect (afetar) e to advise (aconselhar) são verbos;
b. Effect (efeito) e advice (conselho) são substantivos.
Ex.:
a) The wine affected my husband quickly.
O vinho afetou meu marido rapidamente.
b) He soon felt the effects of the wine.
Ele logo sentiu os efeitos do vinho.
c) He advised me to study hard.
Ele me aconselhou a estudar muito.
d) I intend to follow his advice.
Eu pretendo seguir seu conselho.
